Rohida house

The studio began with the documentation of a traditional Rajasthani residence Neem ki Dhani, named after the neem tree in the courtyard.

In the second stage we were required to design a residence for a retired professor of architecture and his wife. The design was to be guided by the above-mentioned documentation.

The proposal was guided by the lessons of the traditional house, not through direct imitation, but through reinterpretation, drawing from its principles of courtyard living, environmental sensitivity and quiet intimacy. The result was a home shaped by continuity between past and present, where vernacular understanding informed a contemporary dwelling rooted in place.
